We will meet later in the evening for our welcome dinner at the hotel. (Dinner)
Day 2: Enjoy a full breakfast at the hotel before we set off on our interesting tour of Halifax. We will also visit one of Canada’s most popular treasures, Citadel Hill, we will spend time at the historic Waterfront area, and it is here that you might want to enjoy some lunch on your own before we continue the tour. As we continue the tour today we will visit Pier 21 National Historic Site – this is Canada’s version of our Ellis Island, where millions of immigrants arrived to start their new lives as Canadians. We will continue on to Peggy’s Cove a fishing village famed for it’s picturesque and typically East –Coast profile, with houses perched along a narrow inlet and on wave-washed boulders facing the mighty Atlantic. We will enjoy an a la carte dinner in this beautiful sea side village, before returning to our hotel for the night. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 3: Today, after we enjoy our breakfast we depart Halifax and travel to Cape Breton Island.
We will stop and visit the Museum of Industry, this is an interactive museum, in which we will punch in as a worker in industrial Nova Scotia, and we will work in a print shop and learn how they assembled World War II artillery shells. As we continue today we will also visit the Alexander Graham Bell Museum, which is located on a large estate overlooking scenic Bras D’Or Lake and Baddeck Bay. Our hotel for this evening is situated on 94 acres of lush greenery and rolling hills at the beginning and end of the Cabot Trail and has the finest views of the Bras D’Or Lakes. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 4: After our full breakfast this morning, we will head out onto the Cabot Trail which is the famed route in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Day 7: Today we bid farewell to Prince Edward Island, after breakfast we will visit the Gateway Village which is at the foot of the Confederation Bridge. Gateway Village is a one-of-a-kind development on Prince Edward Island and a “must see” stop for first-time and returning visitors. We will then cross the bridge and arrive in New Brunswick, and travel down to Hopewell Cape, where we can experience the highest tides in the world. The Bay of Fundy tides were in action even before the dinosaurs roamed the earth, these tides sculpting cliff sides, and carving rock formations of staggering proportions, and creating one of the world’s most unique and unspoiled ecosystem. The gravitational pull of the sun and the moon causes tides that rise and fall up to an incredible 48 feet twice a day – every day! We will check into our hotel that is located in downtown Moncton, close to shops and attractions. We also will go to sea today, in which we will fish and learn to cook and crack our own lobster while at sea – this will make us the ultimate lobster connoisseur, and of course enjoy the lobster meal.
