Mike is proud to be a part of the Bob Rogers Travel team! He joined the staff in June 2010, and brings several years experience designing custom tours for music groups.

Prior to joining the travel industry, he spent ten years as the Choral Director at Teays Valley High School in Ashville, Ohio. While there, the choirs consistently received superior ratings at State OMEA Contests, and the show choir, “Prominent Rendition,” won numerous awards throughout the Midwest, including being named Grand Champion over 30 times from 2000 to 2006. “Prominent Rendition” was also selected to perform at the 2001 & 2003 OMEA State Conventions. He is a frequent adjudicator and clinician for choirs and competitions in Indiana, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia. /span>

For the last several years he has had the honor of assisting groups plan tours from Chicago to Orlando and from New York City to Hawaii. “Music has been an amazing outlet for me. The experiences it has afforded, both as student and director, have been irreplaceable. Music has taken me across North America and through Europe four times. It has become my mission to give students the same experiences I was lucky enough to have.”

Mike is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Music Education Degree, and in his “spare” time serves as the Director of Illuminati, a Sacred Men’s Ensemble in Columbus, where he lives with his partner, Richard Schnipke and their two miniature schnauzers, Millie and Makenzie.

Most Memorable Travel Moment:
I will never forget singing Franz Biebl’s Ave Maria in the Lady Chapel at Ely Cathedral in Cambridgeshire, England, while on tour with The Ohio State University Men’s Glee Club. It was the most beautiful musical/travel moment of my life! Music so beautiful it brought tears to your eyes.
