I was born and raised in Downers Grove, IL and attended Benet Academy in Lisle IL. From there I traveled across the Illinois border to Wisconsin where I attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I graduated the fall of 1999 with a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood. Upon graduation, I entered the exciting and never a dull moment of teaching. I had the opportunity to teach in various school settings ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade. Due to many of life’s changes such as marriage and the birth of my daughter, I have lived in many places in northwest Illinois but finally settled back closer to family.

One would think what would cause an elementary teacher to leave the classroom and move into travel? I am always looking for a challenging experience and realized that I needed to explore a classroom that is not confined to four walls. I love to go new places and try something new. You don’t know if you like it until you try it. BRT is the place for me to grow and to try something new.

Most Memorable Travel Moment: 
I think my most memorable travel moment was taking my daughter to Disney World for the first time for her 5th birthday. Every time she watched a Disney movie prior and saw the castle, she would say, “I’m going there soon! My papa is taking me there.” And it lived up to all her dreams and fantasies. Becoming a princess on her birthday at the Bippity Boppity Boutique and meeting her favorite characters Buzz, Woody and Jesse from Toy Story will definitely leave her with lasting memories. I have been to Disney multiple times but taking your own child, just makes the “Magic” last even longer.
