Entry into Canada from the United States

• Citizens or permanent residents of the United States are required to bring
• a passport/visa or birth certificate with raised seal and
• valid picture identification.

• Naturalized citizens should carry a naturalization certificate.

• All persons other than US citizens or legal, permanent resident of the United States require a valid passport and acceptable travel document.

• Foreign students and workers in the US may encounter difficulties entering Canada with their passports and a Canadian visitor’s visa if they are from a visa-required country.

• To ensure re-admission to the US, a foreign student attending a US educational institution who wishes to visit Canada, must have a

• a valid passport
• a valid visitor’s visa if applicable
• I-94 Arrival-Departure Record
• a current I-20 copy of IAP-66 indicating student’s statu
